Welcome to the website of Chha Gam Patidar Samaj, Chicago (“Chha Gam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a not-for-profit community organization. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of chhagam.org (the “Website”). By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
1. Who we are
Chha Gam Patidar Samaj is a community organization serving the Patidar families of the six ancestral villages — Dharmaj, Karamsad, Vaso, Nadiad, Bhadran and Sojitra — in the Chicago area. The Website shares community information and offers member services such as membership, a member directory, event participation, matrimonial listings and related features.
2. Membership accounts
Some features require a member account. New accounts are subject to review and approval by the Board; creating an account or verifying a phone number does not by itself grant membership. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify the Board promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Website only for lawful, community purposes. You agree not to:
- submit false, misleading or unlawful information, or impersonate another person;
- collect, scrape or misuse other members’ personal information, including directory or matrimonial details;
- use the Website to send unsolicited marketing, harassment or abusive content;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website, member accounts or our systems, or to disrupt their operation.
4. Member directory and matrimonial listings
Information you choose to publish in the member directory or in a matrimonial listing is shared with other logged-in members according to your privacy choices. Please share only information you are comfortable making available to the community, and respect the privacy of others. Information obtained through these features may be used only for personal, community and match-making purposes, and never for commercial use, bulk messaging or redistribution.
5. Content you submit
You retain ownership of the content you submit (for example profile details, obituary notices, matrimonial details or messages to the Board). By submitting content you grant Chha Gam permission to store, display and use it as needed to operate the relevant feature and administer the community. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content and that it is accurate and appropriate.
6. Communications
By maintaining a member account you agree that Chha Gam may contact you using the details on your account for Samaj communication and administration. Phone verification by text message is handled as described in our SMS Verification Information and our Privacy Policy, and is separate from any marketing.
7. Accuracy and availability
We work to keep the Website accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” without warranties of any kind. Community, event and historical information may change, and we do not guarantee it is complete or error-free. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Website at any time.
8. Third-party links and services
The Website may link to or rely on third-party services (for example a text-message provider used only to deliver verification codes). We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites. Your use of a linked service is governed by that service’s own terms and privacy policy.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chha Gam Patidar Samaj and its volunteers and Board members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Website. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Website after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
