SMS verification terms

Chha Gam Patidar Samaj uses text messages to confirm that you can receive a code at the phone number saved on your membership account. This service is for account verification. Requesting a code does not subscribe you to marketing messages.

To request a text, open your member Profile or a secure verification link sent to your account email, check the SMS consent box, and choose “Send verification code.” Save changes to your phone number before requesting a code. Each code expires after 10 minutes. If you request another, use the newest code. Changing your saved phone number requires another verification.

Messages are sent when you request verification, with a limit of five requests per hour for an account or phone number. Additional limits protect the service against abuse. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. Availability depends on the country, carrier and activation of the SMS service.

Reply STOP to the sending number to stop texts from that number. Reply START to resume where supported. Reply HELP for help, or contact Chha Gam. A verification request does not override an opt-out recorded by the SMS provider.

Phone verification does not approve a membership application. New accounts still require Board approval. Never share your verification code.

SMS verification privacy

This feature uses your saved phone number to deliver the code through Bird. Bird receives the phone number, sending number and verification message needed for delivery. The website records consent, delivery references, verification time, expiry and limited attempt counts with your account.

The website stores a keyed hash of a verification code rather than its plain text. Codes stop working after 10 minutes. Verification and consent records stay associated with the account for administration; contact the Board with questions about your records.

This verification feature does not add your phone number or SMS consent to a marketing list. The Board retains access to required contact details for Samaj communication. Your directory privacy choices still control whether other members can see your full phone number and address. The directory may show the phone-number region independently of those choices.

Secure email links for phone verification expire after 30 minutes and open phone verification only. They do not sign you into the member portal or grant Board access.
