The story of the Chha Gam Patidar Samaj — rooted in heritage, blooming through unity.
Chha Gam Patidar Samaj is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, continuing the traditions of our ancestors by celebrating the events, culture, and history of the Patidar community — and passing them on to every generation here in Chicago.
“Chha Gam” means “six villages.” Our community traces its roots to six ancestral villages of the Charotar region of Gujarat — Dharmaj, Karamsad, Vaso, Nadiad, Bhadran, and Sojitra. Though our families are now spread across the world, our identity remains rooted in these six gams.
We exist to spread our rich cultural heritage to future generations and to our elders alike. Through annual events and thoughtful programming geared toward bettering our community, we bring Patidar families across Chicagoland together — preserving our customs and strengthening the bonds that unite us.
Our emblem is a six-petal lotus — each petal a village, together forming one complete flower. The rising figures at its heart represent our families, elders, youth, and future generations, lifted by supporting hands and a rising sun. The roots beneath remind us that wherever we go, we remain grounded in the land and lineage of our six villages.
Chha Gam Patidar Samaj is led by a board of dedicated community professionals who volunteer their time to serve the samaj. Board member profiles will be published here soon.
